Get out and VOTE!

Ok your choice may not be the same as mine, but no matter what you choose you should take yourself out to the polling place and let your voice be heard. Never really thought much about how my vote mattered in the grand scheme of things until 16 years ago when my uncle began his first race for Osage county commissioner.   Getting out all those weekends walking the hilly neighborhoods of Osage county some weekend hot as fire(July) and other weenends pretty cold(November of course) just to wait until voting day to see what the people decide (praying all your time did its job) It has now been 16 years 4 terms and we are doing it all again. Tomorrow is voting day and we will be gathered with the rest of our family and friends supporting a great county commissioner (& uncle) holding our breath until the last vote has been cast and counted.  It has been pretty close in the past which is what taught me that no matter how insignificant I think my one single vote is it still counts.   ...

So I have been busy...OK not really just life really gets in the way of all the other things I like to do for fun.  I get too caught up in going to work and hanging with my girls and doing all the things they require of me and don't take time to write or sew or anything.  So I was quite amazed that when I logged on today and noticed that I have 11 whole followers after all this time of not posting anything.  Summers get a little busy I guess going to the lake, the pool, mini trips and such that I think to myself "i should blog about this"  but then when I get back to the computer (yes I know I can blog from my phone) I have forgotten that I even had the thought to blog. So now that the weather is cooling and the girls are back to school i find that i am having to entertain myself...today was brutal.  Ive been home almost all day alone going nuts.  I like having people around me.  Even if it is just laying around all day watching (o...

What's happening on the farm

Spring has almost come and gone and summer is slowly but surly showing it's hot head here on the little farm.  We have been pretty busy with daily life that I really hadn't been out to take any photos of the animals.  So I thought I had better get to it.   This little Barred Rock momma is sitting on 11 eggs.  It was funny that every single day when one of us were out gathering eggs she would be trying to sit on some and be noticeably mad when we would move her to take them away.  We would take them each day only to find her sitting on more eggs the next day...Stephen felt sorry for her and gave in to her needing to be a mommy by letting her have 11 eggs one day so she could just sit and be happy.  I don't even know what day that was that he let her have them I think that today it has been a couple of weeks or so and we should start to hear the sweet little peeping of baby chicks (not that we need any more but its fun none the less) soon...

it's been a minute

yep, since I posted anyway.  This is just a short sweet post, to let you all know that I am still here...It has just been a little busy spending time with Stephen and the girls, taking a mini road trip with Steph and Rita to Texas (crazy story) and so much other stuff that I haven't made time to sit down and write anything.  I have a couple of things in the works though so don't give up on me.  Something about farm animals, another post about Chuck(s) and a few other things.  I haven't really made any time for quilting, bag making or anything crafty in a bit either so I gotta get on that (I miss it). Check back often to see that yes I am still alive and well, just busier than normal (and my normal is pretty busy) Have a great week ahead hope to write for you all soon.
