Throwback Thursday!

Yes you read that right.  I am writing another throwback thursday.  I was reminded how much I miss writing.  I got a text today and all it said was "I miss throwback thursday"  my reply was I miss blogging and that I would see what I could come up with.  So here it is. I hope it meets expectations and puts a smile on your face.
I chose this photo because it is getting close to my Valories 17th birthday and well look at how much that dark haired chubby cheek baby girl has changed.  And the sweet little red headed cutie means just as much to me as my own girls (I can't believe she is already 20, man I'm getting old).
This was shortly after Val was born and since day one has been pretty much spoiled by Miss Nikki.
Its hard to believe this was taken 17 years ago heck it seems like just yesterday when Nanny brought Nikki home from the hospital.   She was so sweet, another little sister that I never had (Cathy Jo was the other)  I had spent so much time with Nanny and Mikey growing up that it seemed like second nature to feel like their daughters were my sisters.  The feelings just seem to trickle down because they treat my girls like sisters and Kashly looks up to my Britt like any little sister would.
I love having a great circle of aunts and cousins for my girls (& I) to look up to.
I've heard it said that "it takes a village to raise a child" and if you know my family you know that we have a pretty good "village" of people for helping us out one way or another.

I know this was a short one, but its past bed time and it took me forever this evening to find a photo good enough to be called a throwback.

I love hearing from you all so comment, email, call or text anytime the mood strikes.  I have a few good stories I need to get on this blog so keep checking back for a good laugh (or maybe even a tear or two)

I love you all!
Thanks for reading.

Why is it that time passes so much faster when you're older than when you were a kid?

The older I get the faster it seems to go.  I so don't get it.  Maybe it just passes the same but when you are a kid you are always looking forward to something big...last day of school, Christmas break, your birthday and your lack of patience makes it seem like the days just drag on forever (unless its summer break and the first day of school is there before you blink) and when you're older you have developed your patience much better than when you were little and well with work and kids and bills and everything else on your grown up plate its really kinda hard to look forward to those "big" days right?  I mean because if we're looking forward to Christmas we worry about the money we are going to end up spending, if we look forward to summer break well then we just have to worry about how to keep the kiddos entertained and safe while we work and well what grown up really looks forward to their birthday I mean who wants to get yet another year older.  So we don't look forward to much to make the days seem as if they are dragging and then here we are wondering where all this time has gone.  While we were busy being grown ups the fun stuff we use to love just slips by the wayside barely getting noticed and the days have flown by us like we were standing still.

That is what seems to be going on in my house these days.  We are all so busy that we haven't really been taking the time to enjoy what God has put before us.  Don't get me wrong, we have been doing stuff.  Stephen and I got to take a cruise, we have all been fishing with my dad a few times, Britt is playing softball again this year and lots of other things.  I have been too busy just going with the flow that I have not made time to write in my blog in about a month and a half.  I miss it.

This is what has me asking why time seems to fly.  It seems like I have no time to blog these days.  I know I have said it in the past that I am going to be better about blogging more frequently and I do well for a bit and then we get busy and I slow to a near stop.

I do recall posting at the beginning of the year that I would write when I could because we were too busy enjoying life and we have been.  But part of my enjoying life is getting to blog.  It is relaxing and lots of fun.

Keep your eyes open for new stories about our many adventures.  the ones from the past as well as all the adventures we have yet to have.

Thanks for reading.

Have a fantastic Wednesday
