Me & chuck(s)

So I mentioned in a post or so ago that I have started wearing "Chucks"  I had bought them for Val she didn't like this pair and wanted new ones (she is spoiled and nearly always gets what she wants)  Anyway this was a perfectly good pair of shoes laying around collecting dust.  I tried them on, they fit so I started wearing them.  Let me just say they are almost as good as going barefooted and I LOVE them.  I like the look and how awesome they feel on my feet.  While cleaning up the photo storage on my phone I noticed that they seem to be popping up in a lot of my pictures.  So I thought I would share what "Chuck(s) and I have been up to this past week  :)

We went to watch Britt play softball, she did great and we had the best seat in the place.  Val and her "Chuck(s)" sat next to us and cheered for Miss Brittnie and the Lady Pirates to a 15-0 win!  WOOHOO!

This is us kicking back having a beverage (red solo cup no less) at the lake in a fun little "secret" place that Steph & I took our oldest girls.  No it isn't a secret, but the girls had never been there and they thought it was cool and can't wait to go back with friends their own age (maybe when they miss curfew we will find them here one day (no not the oldest but most likely the little ones...ugh)

Finally this is us waiting on the big one to bite.  It never did by the way.  I did however learn what they mean when they say "my worst day fishing still beats my best day at work"  Because my dad will testify to this, that day was my absolute worst day fishing, first the fishing pole I took down to the water with me didn't have a handle (didn't know it until I had tied a hook and baited it up)  went to get a different pole, got it ready and got to fish for a bit, caught a couple fish then got my line hung up on something in the water.  Broke the line, tied on another hook tried to fish again, hung up went on like that for what seemed like every time I threw my line out...I stopped counting how many times I tied on a new hook after about 6 or 8 I know it was more than that.  A couple of times I did get it untangled or saved the hook, but only a couple.  Sat down one time and tossed it out and the wind blew my hat off into the water.  Dad had to use his fishing pole to save it for me.  I am sure he may have had to do that before because he knew exactly what to do, I just stood there and looked at it like crap the water is cold how am i going to get it back?  Thanks dad that really is my favorite hat.  After a couple hours, I called it quits.  I only caught one fish worth keeping and ended up leaving it with dad (he was doing pretty good fishing that day)  What I did get was a good couple of hours hanging out with just my dad.  Not really talking about anything important but talking the whole time I was there.  I miss time like that with him.  Time to just fish.  And yes this was probably my worst day of fishing ever...but it was still better than my best day at work.  :)
So that's what's been going on in my world with Chuck(s)  I say go get a pair, try them on, have some adventures and see how you like them.  Look forward to a few more posts featuring Chuck(s) they keep showing up everywhere.

I have a couple other things I am working on, hope to share with you soon.  Until then have a wonderful week!

My week in pictures

April 9th through 13th really so I don't know if you can call it a real "week" but it sure felt like I done enough stuff that it qualified as a whole week.  Have a look at the crazy things going on in my life right now :)

The perfume I have been wanting...Stephen bought it for me.  It was waiting on the kitchen table when I came home from work. Monday night.  It smells great and I love it

S'mores pops anyone?  That's right s'more pops, I posted about these the other day when I made them.  They came together so fast and my girls just loved them.  Like I said there is a post that tells all about them.  You should make some for your family, you will be a hero  :)

Stephen and I have been on a high protein low calorie diet for a month now and we have been cutting a bunch of foods from our life and eating much more healthy...with that said I have to admit that the other day I had a crazy urge for bacon.  I never really ate a lot of bacon before so I was a bit surprised that I was craving it so badly.  So I bought us some bacon and this is what I did with it...I am pretty sure that when God created asparagus that He did not mean for it to be wrapped in bacon, but boy was it GOOD.  (I made BLT's for dinner 2 nights this past week as well...he he)

The weather has been kinda nuts, rainy, hot super windy...but we enjoy the back yard just as well through it all (mostly)  This evening Stephen and the girls were out feeding the animals and Val was asked to clean the chickens water pan.  You're thinking "ya so..."  but what you may not know is that Valorie is deathly afraid of the chickens.  Why I have no idea, but she is.  Brittnie is just ornery.  She caught Val not looking and ran and locked the coop door from the outside and started tossing fresh grass and some feed in around Val's feet so that the hens would gather around her feet.  Now you and I both know that the hens only care about gathering all that feed and not attacking Valorie but she was sure they were going to "peck me to death"  I believe were her words.  I find it all quite funny and wanted to share my crazy kids with you.

The 12th was Britts 13th birthday and we knew we would be waiting until Friday to have her party and my girls birthday has never went by unnoticed.  So Wednesday night (the 11th) after Britt went to bed Valorie and I inflated over 30 balloons and taped photos with little cute sayings on them to the balloon strings.  turned them all loose in Britt's room for her to find when she woke up.  We also used green streamer and covered her door from top to bottom.  It was great to see the look on her little face.  She loved it.

I don't know if her smile gets much bigger than this  :)

And of course we had to have cake and candles before school the day of her actual birthday and big sister even let her have one of the gifts she picked out instead of making her wait until the party day.

Softball season has started as it does every year the week of Britts birthday.  This was Tuesday evening, the weather was perfect and they even won.  (beat the team from Skiatook no less...he he)

I love watching my girls play this position.  It makes them work hard and they are both great here.
Valorie and I missed the game on Thursday night but heard all about how Britts hit brought in the winning run for her team.  Makes them 2 and 0 so far.  Hope their winning keeps up.

On Friday we had her party and this is just one shot of her cake I took.  I loved it.  I had seen something like this on pinterest as a wedding cake and had to have it done for my baby (who isn't quite a baby anymore)  I took some photos to my favorite baker (Lynn of Lynns Cakes in Skiatook OK-look her up she is great) and asked if she could do it (would like to say I NEVER doubted her)  and this is what she gave me back.  Absolutely wonderful, it tasted great and best of all...Britt LOVED it.

Done a ton of shopping (poor pocket book) and even got to meet up with my best girl (Jody) even if it was for just a little bit.  I love visiting with her and miss that she don't live just down the street anymore (there is a couple farm houses for sale on my street...just sayin')

I am going to be working on a few UFOs (un-finished objects) that I have stashed around the house and start some new ones so be looking for posts about all that soon.  But for today, well that's all I have.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Super easy snack

I look at pinterest a lot.  It's no secret.  But I have several blogs that I read daily.  With that said I honestly can not remember where I seen this snack.  I never even read how they did it but I was sure I could figure it out.

S'more pops

This is what I did:

1st put your marshmallows on little sticks (I found mine in the veggie section @ walmart)

2nd melt chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth

3rd crush gram crackers until they are pretty fine.

Then you just dip your marshmallow (I more like rolled mine) in the melted chocolate. And then roll them through the gram cracker

Set them sticks up on some foil or a plate until they cool a bit (if the kids can wait that long)  and serve.

I got lots of praise.  My girls (and Stephen) loved them

Try it and let me know how big a hit they are.

Have a great week!

Let's catch up :)

It's been a couple of weeks, boy has it been nuts.  My work week back from spring break wasn't the greatest and it had me pretty stressed...crazy work, family issues that somehow always pop up, but I got this bubble wrap out of a shipment at work and played with it a bit and when I got off work found that Stephen was going to grill for us (i love this time of year) found this picture and it make me think of Stephen standing out at the grill :)  So maybe I just let the stress get to me too easily because by the time I got home there was no stress at all (a husband that takes care of dinner helps alot though)

Got to spend some time with Miss Kashly, she always wants to come out to the house ,this makes my heart happy because I remember Nanny and Mikey's house being where I always wanted to be because it was so much fun (they spoiled me as I do her) and she loves all the animals we have.  Britt lets her ride (sit on while we lead) Ladybug and she loves to "pick eggs" while she's here too.  17 eggs in one day isn't too shabby.

The huge lottery was all anyone could talk about last week, everyone dreaming about what they would do with half a billion dollars, I wish I could say that I didn't buy into the hype, but Stephen did buy a couple of #'s.  It really is silly to me to spend money on the lottery or at the casinos but I guess if you don't go nuts you're probably gonna be OK.  Of course I was in on the "If I win I'm gonna buy...I'm gonna go..."  but we didn't win (of course, because if we had this post would be full of pictures from around the world)  I think it is because the day before the winning #s were picked Stephen found this 4 leaf clover and used up what little bit of luck he had for the week  :)  I pressed it in a book to keep it.  Not because I believe it has luck I don't know if it does or not, but because it is cool, how often do you find a 4 leaf clover?

I can't believe I have had 2 full weekends with out blogging.  But wow we had another crazy week at work, it was so crazy that I can't even go into how crazy because you all would go nuts too.  Lets just say this picture is how I felt by the time Tuesday (my Friday) came around.  Lansing was so tired of all the craziness that he took his frustrations out on a stray shoe that was left hanging around unattended.  He was so happy with his shoe that he was almost smiling.

Then came my weekend (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday for normal people) again.  I got to relax fishing at the lake Wednesday, spent the whole day with Sarah Janel caching on Thursday.  We had tons of fun.
On Friday the girls were out of school for good Friday so I figured I would take them to the mall and do a bit of shopping.  While sitting at lunch at the mall we were talking and out of the blue I said man I would much rather be hanging out at the lake that sitting in the middle of the mall.  I about fell over when both my girls said "yea me too, we should go fishing"  So we went to one store and left.  Stopped to get some drinks and worms and went to the lake (except Val she wanted to go mow the lawn at grandmas house)  Britt and I went on out and fished the evening away.  We only caught a bunch of perch, but we had a great time while we were there.
Here are a few of pictures of my adventures this past week :)  enjoy!

Not a keeper, but fun to catch, and yes that is my hand holding that fish (yuck)

I didn't get to catch too many fish Wednesday, but it was nice to sit out there with nothing or no one causing problems just the sunshine the breeze and the fish  :)

and that one too

I had to learn to take my own fish off...that way I can do with out a guy there to take care of me.  It was quite gross but fun anyway.  Marty learned that he liked fishing too.  He learned very quickly that if you bite them right on the head by the eyes they stop flopping almost instantly (disgusting dog)

I could so do this every day.

these awesome horses were on the way to the "fishing hole"

I stole these shoes from Val when she never wore them after Christmas 2 years ago...I believe it is official that they are now my favorite shoes (other than my boots)  But Shh...don't tell her.
It is a little funny though, because I remember being in high school and asking for a pair of red high top Reebok's and my mom go me red "Chucks" and I hated them, but look now. Crazy how things change...and Chucks are the most comfy shoe (I can't explain it)

Geocaching was great, we left around 8:30 Thursday and didn't return until 4:30.  Seen lots of great things, some things were a bit sad, and others were just odd.  I learned that I can find my way to and from Muskogee with out getting on a major highway (its funner that way anyhow)  :)  Found 15 caches that day, not my personal best but it was a great day.

Odd--Where the names have no streets

Cool--There was a street with my name :)

Sad--a cemetery that is clearly used still but no one takes care of it. (it could be so pretty)
Free to a good home!

"moms favorite"

These sweet little girls were born a week before Thanksgiving 2011.  We can no longer afford to feed 3 extra labs.  Their momma is a Chocolate Lab, the dad is someones dog from the neighborhood.  If you would like a new puppy (they are the sweetest things) and you live near us, please email me at  and I will do what I can to get her to you.

I'm half way through another work week, can't wait to see what next weekend holds for me.
If you wanna go fishing or geocaching just holler at me, I'll go with you and we will have an awesome time!  :)

Have a great week and Happy Easter to you and your family.
